The Event
Join us on Sunday September 25, 2011 for Louisville AIDS Walk, Kentucky’s largest annual HIV/AIDS fundraising and awareness event. Each year families, friends, students, volunteers, teammates and co-workers come together to bring awareness to the AIDS epidemic in our community. Through the participation of hundreds of volunteers and over 5,000 walkers this event has a proud nineteen year tradition of mobilizing thousands of people in the local fight against AIDS.
It all starts at 1:00pm on the Belvedere with food, beverages and on-site registration. A professional photographer will be onsite taking Team Photos and each team will receive one free lab processed photo. We’ll have a variety of live entertainment and special guests including: Dawne Gee, Congressman John Yarmuth, Voices of Kentuckiana, River City Drum Corp and more!
Our Walk is family friendly, pet friendly and handicap accessible!
Bring The Kids!
The younger ones will enjoy the inflatable, ice-cream, face painting, cotton candy, corn hole and costumed characters at our KidZone.
Bring The Pets!
Click the Pet Walk link in this section on our web site to read more about "Paws for a Cause".
Top awards will be given to Walkers and Pet Walkers.
There is no cost to participate in the Walk or Pet Walk. The AIDS Walk and Pet Walk begin at 3:00pm and follow the same route. The scenic, flat, 3.1 mile course starts and ends on Louisville’s Belvedere. The route includes crossing the Clark Memorial Bridge to Jeffersonville Indiana which provides panoramic views of the Ohio River and city skylines.
This year, now more than ever, we need your support. With the looming economic recession, record high home foreclosures, increased food, utility and gas prices, we are concerned donations will be affected. With 100% of proceeds going to provide direct services and knowing our organization is a Better Business Bureau accredited charity, you can be sure your support will be making a difference for our neighbors who are struggling with HIV/AIDS.
