The Event
Paws for a Cause! We know, it's hard to be humble when you have the greatest pet on earth -so here's your chance to show off your adorable friend to thousands!
Following the lead of a number of other Walks, last year we added a fun new component to our event! Pet Walk is a great way to get involved with Louisville AIDS Walk and have fun with your other family member. Your pet can enjoy the outdoors; you have fun while raising funds for a worthwhile cause. There will be special water stations and shaded areas along the route for your pets.
We'll have a special check-in area at the Pet Registration Booth on the day of the Walk. If you register with on Kintera/Blackbaud, our online fundraising service, when you register you can easily create your own web page, write a little bio about your efforts, and upload a picture of you and your pet. Who can say NO to a picture of a pet? When you add that with a terrific cause like Louisville AIDS Walk all your friends and family will want to help out. Plus by helping to raise money for our neighbors living with HIV/AIDS, you could win some great pet prizes!
While we ask that you please be courteous and bring bags should you need to clean up after your dog, our friends at Dawg Dayz have volunteered to be on duty to provide canine waste removal. Ensure that all your pets’ vaccinations are up to date. Pets must be kept on leashes at all times.
The Pet Walk is just a new feature of our event. Pets and owners will also gather at the Belvedere and walk with other AIDS Walk participants on Sunday, September 13th. Pets and owners will follow the same route and the Pet Walk begins at the same time as the 17th Annual Louisville AIDS Walk: 3:00pm. There is no cost to participate in the Pet Walk or AIDS Walk.
